Pentax K200D
~ Pentax K200D User Reviews
Pentax K200D 10.2MP Digital SLR Camera With Shake Reduction 18-55mm F/3.5-5.6 Lens In the last year, twice the auto focus has completely failed to work. I'm currently ready to send the camera off to Pentax for warranty repair, for the second time for the same problem. When I first purchased the camera, the auto focus sporadically stopped working for brief moments with the symptoms progressively worse over time and eventually (auto focus) stopped working all together. I sent the camera off for warranty repair. Upon receiving the camera back, the auto focus symptoms immediately started to happen again and then again (auto focus) died. The colors are pleasantly inaccurate -- that's correct, the colors are off but with a nice interpretation that tend to skew on the saturated side. That's the charm of the K200d I learned to like. Also, unless you are shooting in ideal lighting the pictures are on the underexposed side - not much of an issue since I shoot in RAW. I'm thoroughly... (more)

Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF1 12.1MP Micro Four-Thirds Interchangeable Lens Digital Camera With 14-45mm Lens Camera arrived last week and as I was playing around with it, I was on the fence about whether it was worth the money (2x a superzoom, more than some dslrs), and picture quality was ok but not stunning. Indoor shots needed tweaking, and not so fast as I was expecting. Without the viewfinder, which hasn't been released yet, I was leaning toward returning it for a dslr. On to this week and the real life testing - fabulous performance. I used the scene mode, the intelligent auto and the custom program where you can choose the settings like a fully manual camera at each event so I could get more of a feel for the camera. School field trip - great pictures. Volleyball tournament - great pictures. Tried out the video at the playground, great picture quality, great sound quality and you can zoom without any external sound. The autofocus kept the picture in focus when zooming in video... (more)

Olympus Stylus Tough-8000 12 MP Digital Camera With 3.6x Wide Angle Optical Dual Image Stabilized Zoom And 2.7-Inch LCD (Black) I'm a Canon person, but I decided to stray from my successful formula and try this little Olympus. I'd always been interested in underwater photography, but not enough to spend real money on serious equipment. When I saw this little guy on display (in a fish tank) at the camera shop, I made an impulse purchase and spent 400$ on it. WHAT A MISTAKE! It worked okay the first time I took it snorkeling, but the second time it began to act up. Finally, it died and I found water in the battery/memory card compartment. It ruined my trip and I immediately sent it into Olympus upon my return. It came back all clean and seemed perfect...UNTIL I took it snorkeling again (on the next trip) and it immediately died. In fact, I found water in both the battery and the usb compartments the second time. I sent it back to Olympus and now it's supposed to be fixed, but I have... (more)

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX1/H 10MP "Exmor R" CMOS Digital Camera With 3-inch Touch-Screen LCD (Grey) Hi folks: I am the director of photography for a television series. We have been using Sony professional broadcast studio equipment for 20 years without failures and I could not be happier. We recently purchased this camera for "behind the scenes" snaps at our location shootings. Please note: this camera was not purchased from Amazon, but instead, a local retailer serving professional photographers in Los Angeles. I had high hopes for this camera but alas, the images I got were not that impressive, excepting the panorama which was strikingly good and the camera malfunctioned very quickly needing repair. I found the menus a bit confusing and not intuitive even though I am an iPhone junkie and very tech savvy. What if I dont WANT smile trigger? Admittidly, I probably needed to spend more quality time learning all of the functions but I bought the camera for super fast point and shoot in a... (more)

Canon PowerShot S90IS User Reviews
Canon PowerShot S90IS 10MP Digital Camera With 3.8x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom And 3-inch LCD I've fallen in love with a camera! The Canon S90 is 2009's best of the smaller digital cameras for those who highly value a 28 mm wide lens, superb low light capability, manual control of shutter and aperture, and RAW capability. There are numerous bonuses, such as the two programmable rings, and a third programmable button, for fast control of things like focus, exposure, ISO, or white balance, instead of scrolling through a hodge podge of menus. If you want a 10x zoom, interchangeable lenses, or a larger camera for your grip, look elsewhere. I don't like using flash, and the f 2.0 lens and superb high ISO resolution is wonderful. I took photos in a very dim restaurant of friends and my food, and the photos are clean and fairly noise free at ISO 800, and quite good at ISO 1600. Photos at 3200 are surprisingly good if shooting in dim light, not darkness. If you blow them up,... (more)
